A tribute to Kev

Created by Paul 9 years ago
Kevin was born in Wellington Avenue, Harefield, Southampton in November 1952. He had three older sisters and a few years later a younger sister arrived, so it was said he was spoilt by his sisters. One of his friend said to him " God help you for having four sisters" He went to Harefield Infant and Junior Schools then onto Moorfield, and left at the age of 15yrs. He trained as a butcher and then at then joined the Royal Navy in 1970. When he went the HMS Raleigh for his initial training his sisters were upset to see him go away. He would often bring matelots home for weekends. He went onto be a Stoker. He went onto serve in the Merchant Navy and worked for Alexandra Tugs for almost 25 year and became the chief engineer and his Sausage and Bacon Baguettes became well known. He married Jenny in 1977 and and they had two children Steve and Bev and the family home was in Water Beech Drive in Hedge End. Sadly the marriage came to an end. Jenny remained his one true love until the day he died. Kev enjoyed many hobbies including his love of football and being a saints fan. He was also well known for his socialising and chatting to anyone who he saw at the shops. It was known that he liked chatting up women but with no committment from him. It was often said that from his Navy days he had a woman in every port or maybe one in every pub Kev was a Kind, Caring and Considerate person whose passing has left a massive void in the hearts and lives of all those who knew him.
